If East Harlem were riding high off their 84-58 takedown of Laguardia on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. East Harlem took a hard 68-52 fall against Capital Prep Harbor on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, East Harlem can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 305th in New York, while Capital Prep Harbor is ranked sixth in Connecticut).
Capital Prep Harbor was led to victory by Edward Williams and Jacob Henderson. Williams scored 27 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Henderson almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, nine assists, and nine steals. The contest was Williams' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Joshua Daniels was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals.
East Harlem's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Capital Prep Harbor, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
East Harlem will be playing in front of their home fans against Richman at 5:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Richman is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Capital Prep Harbor won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Roosevelt at 11:00 a.m. on December 27, 2023.
