The Raymond Central Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They fell just short of Louisville by a score of 48-45. Raymond Central has not had much luck with Louisville recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Raymond Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reid Otto. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Otto scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Potter, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Louisville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Luellen out in front who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Pierce, who scored 14 points.
Raymond Central's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Louisville, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.
Raymond Central will square off against Fort Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fort Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday. As for Louisville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Arlington at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Arlington is ranked 142nd, while Louisville is ranked 157th).
