In what's become a running theme this season, the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by South Iredell at home to the tune of 71-39. Winning may never get old, but Hickory Ridge sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hickory Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ma-kaela Gidney, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and five steals. Gidney has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Duley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Despite the loss, South Iredell still got an impressive performance from Kayden Johnson, who scored 11 points.
Hickory Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for South Iredell, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory Ridge will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Norman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 722 points over their last ten matches. As for South Iredell, they will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooresville has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
