St. Francis is 3-0 against De La Salle since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The St. Francis Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the De La Salle Meteors at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
St. Francis posted their biggest victory since November 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Resurrection 45-25. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Francis.
Among those leading the charge was Natalie Doyle, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of T?a Rubino, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, De La Salle scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against IC Catholic Prep by a score of 63-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kamryn Porter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of De La Salle's points. Taylor Schergen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
St. Francis is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. De La Salle's record is now 8-14.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's game: St. Francis have been dynamite from deep this season, having only drained 35.7% of their threes per game. It's a different story for De La Salle, though, as they've only made 29.1% of their threes per game this season. Given St. Francis' sizeable advantage in that area, De La Salle will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything went St. Francis' way against De La Salle in their previous meeting back in January of 2018 as St. Francis made off with a 71-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Francis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
