Softball Recap: Troy Takes Down Ranked Ennis

Troy faced Ennis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans blew past the Mustangs 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Leslie Gravier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Gravier was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Autumn Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Tana Grant was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Troy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ennis only posted an OBP of .415.

Troy's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Ennis, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

As of now, neither Troy nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
