Valley Christian has won 23 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Verrado has won 23 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. Valley Christian will take on Verrado in a tournament on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Valley Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Sunset on Monday. Valley Christian put the hurt on Sunset with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Bergloff made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Valley Christian got a big performance out of Carson Grier, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most hits Grier has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caleb Danzeisen, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Valley Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Verrado). Everything went their way against Tigard on Monday as Verrado made off with a 15-9 win. While the Vipers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Valley Christian, Verrado also got a great game from a two-way player: Braxton Bjur. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Bjur has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other pitching news, Lucas Spitzock looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Colton Zacher was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Bebleh, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Verrado is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Verrado's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Valley Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .513. It's a different story for Verrado, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Valley Christian's hitters?
