McCollum's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Harlandale as McCollum made off with a 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won seven in a row.
RUIZ MADELYNN made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, MARTINEZ LAUREN and ALVAREZ KAITLIN did most of the damage at the plate: LAUREN scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while KAITLIN went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave KAITLIN a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was SORAYA TORRES, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.
McCollum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harlandale only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Winn came up short against Southwest Legacy on Tuesday and fell 5-2.
Julee Salinas was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.
McCollum's record now sits at 9-2. As for Winn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Winn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: McCollum has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. It's a different story for Winn, though, as they've only averaged .353. Will they be able to contain McCollum's hitters?
McCollum was able to grind out a solid win over Winn in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for McCollum since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
