Basketball Game Preview: Chatham Central Bears vs. Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers

Chatham Central is 6-1 against Bartlett Yancey since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Chatham Central Bears will face off against the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Chatham Central will be strutting in after a victory while Bartlett Yancey will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, everything went Chatham Central's way against Jordan-Matthews as Chatham Central made off with a 52-31 win. The 52-point effort marked the Bears' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Chatham Central had a senior duo take command as Reid Albright dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards and Brennen Oldham dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Albright is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season. Luke Gaines was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Bartlett Yancey came up short against Cummings on Tuesday and fell 49-39. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Bartlett Yancey's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chatham Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Chatham Central was able to grind out a solid win over Bartlett Yancey when the teams last played back in February, winning 62-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chatham Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
