Coral Shores moved up to 390 from 422 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southeastern - South. A 48-7 win over Miami Country Day helped the Hurricanes improve their standing.
Coral Shores led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Spartans.
LaSalle's dynamic duo of Joey McCain and Manny Readon proved tough for Benjamin to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McCain threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns and Readon had 116 yards receiving. David Morales helped LaSalle's passing attack out by catching one ball for 58 yards.
Kenrry Tejedor was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 111 yards on 13 carries as Florida Christian lost to the Buccaneers. Julian Seekins also contributed to the rushing game with 85 yards on the ground.
5-foot-8 quarterback Roberto Perez of Marathon is the league leader in passing yards this season with 424. He has also thrown one touchdown. On the ground, the Patriots' Tejedor has rushed for 515 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Michael Erwin. The Florida Christian star has 14 catches for 262 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when LaSalle takes on Ed Holly's team. The Royal Lions are currently in second, while the Hurricanes are in third.
