On Friday Burke take on Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 7:30 PM. Burke come in off of four low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the squad is obviously eager to reverse.
Burke have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Last Friday, they came out on top in a nail-biter against Garrett Academy Tech, sneaking past 8-6. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Oceanside Collegiate Academy and North Charleston. Oceanside Collegiate Academy put a hurting on North Charleston to the tune of 49-0. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Their wins bumped Oceanside Collegiate Academy to 4-1 and Burke to 2-3. In Oceanside Collegiate Academy's win, junior Sean Cooney passed for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns and senior Zion Coker snatched 2 receiving TDs and punched in 1 rushing TD. We'll see if Burke have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
