Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagle). They rang in the new year with a 71-60 victory over The Ambrose School Archers on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on four straight.

Despite the loss, The Ambrose School still got an impressive performance from Lincoln Mathis, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Mathis' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Tristen Trevino was another key player, putting up 22 points and four steals.

Eagle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for The Ambrose School, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Eagle will host Boise at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Eagle's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
