Megan Wisor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Clearfield got a massive performance out of Haley Billotte, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. What's more, Billotte posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March. Eve Siegel was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Clearfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .513. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Carroll). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Blacklick Valley on Wednesday, sneaking past 17-16. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Adelyn Myers was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Avery Myers, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Bishop Carroll's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Clearfield, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Clearfield took their win against Bishop Carroll in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Bison have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
