The North Saxons are taking a road trip to take on the El Segundo Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with North sitting on three straight victories and El Segundo on five.
While North didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Cerritos get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Saxons, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Isis Jones, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Cerritos off the board. Jones has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Corina Alvillar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Quezada, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, El Segundo beat Banning 7-4 on Monday.
The team relied heavily on Marilyn McCaverty, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sullivan McLaughlin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
El Segundo now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North, their record is now 6-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like El Segundo struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from El Segundo in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Saxons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
