In what's become a running theme this season, the Baker County Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 67-22 win over Fort White. Winning may never get old, but Baker County sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Yamise Haygood was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 steals. She hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Coleman, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Fort White still got an impressive performance from Isreal Hart, who scored 12 points. That was a full 54.5% of Fort White's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Baker County's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Fort White, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker County will face off against Keystone Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baker County is facing Keystone Heights at the right time seeing as Keystone Heights is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Fort White, they will head out on the road to take on Bradford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort White will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 469th, while Bradford is ranked 154th).
