High Point extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-2 in the process. They blew past the Parkdale Panthers 15-6. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bryan Perez and Ramon Brito Jr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Perez struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Brito Jr didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Perez got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Brito Jr went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keysi Matos, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Wander Pe?a, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.
High Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive matchups.
As for Parkdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 18, 2024.
On Parkdale's side, Chris Arredondo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Arredondo has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: High Point beat Parkdale by a score of 6-4 later that day.
