Malad waltzed into their match on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wendell Trojans a 16-0 shutout. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

In other batting news, Malad got a massive performance out of Bostyn Combs, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Combs has posted since back in March. Malad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wendell only posted an OBP of .143.
Malad's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Wendell, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
