On Thursday, Lithia Springs didn't have too much trouble with Springwood on the road as they won 59-44. The win was all the more spectacular given Lithia Springs' disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 289th in Georgia, while Springwood is ranked 46th in Alabama).
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was CJ Johnson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Micah Thomas, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Springwood struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Lithia Springs and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Springwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.
Lithia Springs will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Carver at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Carver will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. Springwood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McIntosh at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th.
