Cumberland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Sheppard, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Sheppard has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Delsea put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Deptford 21-1. Considering the Crusaders have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Dubois was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Dubois was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Austin Buchannon and Nick Mokienko did most of the damage at the plate: Buchannon went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Mokienko went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Alex Grippo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Delsea was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Delsea, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0.
