Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Diamond). They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the McAuley Catholic Warriors on Saturday. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Adam Brown made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Brown was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Maddox Youngblood was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Brayden Nelson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Diamond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McAuley Catholic only posted a batting average of .000.
Diamond's record is now 11-5. As for McAuley Catholic, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
