Brinley Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Fulshear got a massive performance out of Ava Galaviz, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ava Callahan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.
Fulshear was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .769. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Alief Elsik lost 22-3 to George Ranch on Friday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Alief Elsik saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Onice Barreno, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
Fulshear pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alief Elsik, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fulshear has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Alief Elsik struggles in that department as they've averaged .571. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
