Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kokomo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zion Bellamy, who went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of D.J. Nash, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grady Carpenter, who went 11 for 19 on his way to 31 points along with eight assists and eight boards. Quinn Smith also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Kokomo is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Tipton, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.
Kokomo will challenge Lafayette Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kokomo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Lafayette Jefferson likes a good challenge. As for Tipton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hamilton Heights at 7:30 p.m. Tipton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
