South Glens Falls has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hudson Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. South Glens Falls' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Hudson Falls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, South Glens Falls needed a bit of extra time to put away Scotia-Glenville. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tartans, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Tartans since May 14, 2021.
Grady Bammert spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Justin Christensen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Hudson Falls couldn't beat Glens Falls on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Tigers came up short against the Black Bears, falling 16-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Black Bears since April 28, 2023.
Hudson Falls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richard Rosick, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Rosick is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Santino Miranda was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
South Glens Falls' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Hudson Falls, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Glens Falls has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hudson Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
