Concord was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Central Cabarrus 54-25. The Spiders came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 34 last week.
Concord extended the longest winning streak in 3A South Piedmont this week by beating the Vikings, 54-25. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Concord's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards.
B.J. Beecher has thrown for 1653 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while
Alex Asbury has 17 catches for 626 yards.
Rocky Reid leads the league in rushing with 861 yards.
A big matchup in 3A South Piedmont this week will be when Cox Mill takes on the Spiders. At the moment, Greg Neuendorf's team is in fourth, while Concord is in first.
A.L. Brown suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 38-34 loss to A.L. Brown. Mike Newsome's team had been ranked 24th, but fell to 29 following the defeat.
