Ayersville has gone 6-1 against Stryker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pilots will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Ayersville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Ayersville got the win against Hicksville by a conclusive 3-0.
Ayersville never let Hicksville on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-9, 25-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ayersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Sigler, who had three digs and two aces.
Sigler wasn't the only good servers: Ayersville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hicksville only served one.
Meanwhile, Stryker unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Hilltop, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since September 2nd.
While Stryker ultimately came up short, they really made Hilltop work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-18, 25-19.
Stryker's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Ayersville, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Ayersville was able to grind out a solid victory over Stryker in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pilots since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
