Basketball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES

The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Westover Christian Academy easily dispatched Faith Christian Academy on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Westover Christian Academy fell just short of Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy by a score of 48-46 on Tuesday.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braden Hundley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave him a new career-high. Silas Zeidler was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Westover Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Roanoke Valley Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Temple Christian 54-49.

Westover Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.

Westover Christian Academy came up short against Roanoke Valley Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 44-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Roanoke Valley Christian's Luke Somers, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds.
