The Tomball Memorial Wildcats will head out to take on the Klein Bearkats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Tomball Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Tomball Memorial took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Magnolia West 9-2.

Lauren Coombs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tomball Memorial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Coombs, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Lacey Matheson was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Klein hadn't done well against Klein Oak recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bearkats had just enough and edged out the Panthers 2-1. The game was the first time the Bearkats have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 19, 2022.
Klein also let their pitcher toss all 12 innings and she was also dialed-in: Madilyn Schultz gave up only one earned run on six hits and racked up 23 Ks.
Tomball Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Klein, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Klein's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tomball Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Klein, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Tomball Memorial's hitters?
Tomball Memorial beat Klein 5-2 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
