Bay is 1-7 against Choctawhatchee since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bay Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the Choctawhatchee Indians at 7:00 p.m. Bay is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Bay at home against Destin as the squad secured a 58-22 victory. The victory was just what Bay needed coming off of a 71-45 loss in their prior contest.
Among those leading the charge was Taylor Carlson, who scored ten points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Williams, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Choctawhatchee had just enough and edged Escambia out 2-0 on Tuesday. Given Choctawhatchee's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Escambia is ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bay's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Choctawhatchee, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Bay was taken down by Choctawhatchee 67-30 when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
