Demario Richard ran for a touchdown with 6:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Knight (Palmdale, Calif.) 33-21 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
After taking the lead on a
Jarrod Ford touchdown run, the Hawks went into halftime with a 14-13 lead. The Falcons took the lead for good with a Richard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring eight points in the third, Palmdale still trailed by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. But 12 points in the fourth helped PHS pull out the victory.
Jake Dashnaw played well for the Falcons in the victory. The senior threw two touchdowns.
Tony Dawson made a difference for Knight. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown, ran for one touchdown and kicked one extra point.
A 21-18 Palmdale victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
Knight (2-5) goes up against Quartz Hill in a Golden game matchup next week, while Palmdale (7-0) locks horns with Antelope Valley also in a Golden game.
