The Captain Shreve Gators won the last time they faced the Benton Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Captain Shreve came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 60-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Captain Shreve.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Captain Shreve to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaron Guinn, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Guinn is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jyrin Sowell, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Captain Shreve is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Benton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15.
Captain Shreve will take on the Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Haughton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Benton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
