The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of Cedartown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast Whitfield County in their matchups with Cedartown: they've now lost four in a row.
Cedartown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drew Ledbetter led the charge by throwing for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Ledbetter hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tae Harris, who gained 76 total yards and two touchdowns.
Southeast Whitfield County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Cedartown, Northwest Whitfield, and Druid Hills. As for Cedartown, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Southeast Whitfield County will head out on the road to face off against Sonoraville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sonoraville is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Cedartown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest Whitfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
