The Parma Panthers will square off against the Melba Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parma is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.
On Tuesday, Parma made easy work of Vision and carried off a 21-2 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 14 games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kinlea Cole made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Cole was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Zoey Heffelfinger and Lakota Leppert did most of the damage at the plate: Heffelfinger got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Leppert went 3-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Leppert has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Watkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Parma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vision only posted an OBP of .417.
Meanwhile, Melba posted their closest win since March 20, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Marsing, sneaking past 9-7. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Huskies on their field since April 26, 2022.
Kali Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kodi Adams was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Harris, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Parma's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Melba, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.
Melba's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parma has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Melba, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Parma's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Parma took their win against Melba in their previous matchup last Wednesday by a conclusive 16-5 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
