Basketball Recap: Wills Point Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Wills Point Tigers were beaten by the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs 72-38. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1294th, while the Mustangs are ranked 66th).

Despite the loss, Wills Point still got an impressive performance from Chris James, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave James a new career-high in points. William Walulik was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Wills Point was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Wills Point has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which is still a better percentage than their 4-17 record this season. As for McKinney Christian Academy, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-1.

Wills Point will look to defend their home court on January 10th against Community at 7:30 p.m. As for McKinney Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Dallas Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinney Christian Academy is facing Dallas Christian at the right time seeing as Dallas Christian is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
