Trinity Prep has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Old Suwanee Christian Conquerors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Trinity Prep beat the Panthers 56-47.
Trinity Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shane Harvey led the charge by scoring 12 points along with six rebounds. Ace Stevens was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Old Suwanee Christian came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oakwood Christian and snuck past 69-67. The score was all tied up 37-37 at the break, but Old Suwanee Christian was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Old Suwanee Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jon Rojas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Rojas has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Chatman, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds.
Trinity Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-12. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Old Suwanee Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Friday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Trinity Prep have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 37.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Old Suwanee Christian struggles in that department as they've made 39.9% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
