The Wilson Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Muhlenberg Muhls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Muhlenberg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wilson proved they can win big on Friday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Emmaus 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 17, 2024.
Jack Gabel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-6. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Ryan Marmolejos was excellent, scoring two runs while going 4-for-6. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tim Lengle also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Wilson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Emmaus only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, Muhlenberg didn't have quite enough to beat Daniel Boone on Wednesday and fell 5-4.
Cole Moody made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lincoln High, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Wilson pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Muhlenberg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wilson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Muhlenberg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
