Rosary Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Coronado. Rosary Academy's pitchers stepped up to hand Coronado a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Rosary Academy got a great performance from Daleah Cardenas as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Cardenas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on K'Lene Gutierrez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Caldera, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Rosary Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Rosary Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Rosary Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Salpointe Catholic on the 21st. As for Coronado, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-2 victory against Beaverton on the 21st.
