Comstock extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bangor Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.
Comstock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Kingston Price was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
As for Bangor, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.7 runs this season.
On Bangor's side, Carson Pullins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Pullins a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Pullins is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Hardester, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Remington, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Comstock will square off against Decatur at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bangor, they will head out on the road to square off against Our Lady of the Lake Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
