The Corry Beavers will venture away from home to take on the Conneaut Area Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Corry lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Northwestern, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Beavers were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Beavers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Wyatt Swan, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Northwestern off the board. Corry is 3-1 when Swan allows two or fewer hits, but 4-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tucker Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Corry: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Kamdyn Moon was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Conneaut Area, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over North East on Tuesday.
Thaddeus Bland made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Chase Stewart was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Corry's record now sits at 7-10. As for Conneaut Area, their record is now 5-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Corry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Conneaut Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Corry was able to grind out a solid victory over Conneaut Area when the teams last played back in April, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
