The Cornerstone Eagles extended their postseason success on Monday against the Westminster School at Oak Mountain Knights. They beat the Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 58-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cornerstone.
Cornerstone's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was De'Marion Burks, who scored seven points along with eight steals and six assists. Another player making a difference was Jermaine Holder, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Cornerstone's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Westminster School at Oak Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.
Cornerstone will face off against Altamont at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Altamont's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Cornerstone has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Westminster School at Oak Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
