Oak Knoll saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Han, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Han is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Summit entered their tilt with New Providence on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 6-3.
Kate Shin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Shin was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Charlotte Yarnall was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Riley Dagner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Summit's record is now 7-3. As for Oak Knoll, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Oak Knoll has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Summit struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Oak Knoll suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Summit when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
