Breckenridge is 2-8 against Pelican Rapids since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Breckenridge Cowboys 's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pelican Rapids Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Breckenridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Pelican Rapids likes a good challenge.
Even though Barnesville scored an imposing 68 points on Thursday, Breckenridge still came out on top. Breckenridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-68 victory over Barnesville. Given Breckenridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Barnesville is ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Breckenridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydni Roberts, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Yaggie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pelican Rapids entered their tilt with Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pelican Rapids snuck past Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton with a 51-45 victory on Thursday.
Breckenridge pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Pelican Rapids, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Breckenridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Pelican Rapids when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 43-40. Will Breckenridge repeat their success, or does Pelican Rapids have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
