The Sunnyside Blue Devils waltzed into their game Thursday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Canyon del Oro 51-15 on the road. Considering Sunnyside has won ten contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Nayeli Nidez-Acu?a continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The match was her 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alana Felix, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Sunnyside's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Canyon del Oro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Sunnyside and Pueblo will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Pueblo has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 845 points over their last 12 games. Canyon del Oro will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Rincon/University at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Rincon/University is ranked 149th, while Canyon del Oro is ranked 150th).
