Horizon has gone a perfect 6-0 against Olympia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Horizon Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Olympia Titans at 4:30 p.m. Horizon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
While Horizon's victory against Lake Minneola wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Horizon narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lake Minneola 2-0. The victory was nothing new for Horizon as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lake Minneola's batters probably weren't too happy with Mackenzie Duncan, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Duncan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Horizon's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lila Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
Meanwhile, Olympia came up short against West Orange on Thursday and fell 13-8. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Makenna Rossi was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rossi was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Gracie Lentine made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Hannah Vartti was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Olympia hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Horizon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Olympia's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Horizon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Olympia, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Horizon keep running through batters, or will Olympia buck the trend?
Horizon took their win against Olympia in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 12-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Horizon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
