The Vinemont Eagles and the Oneonta Redskins will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Vinemont is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Oneonta in Alabama (Vinemont is ranked 97th, while Oneonta is ranked 299th).
Vinemont has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 65-33 victory over Addison at home.
Vinemont's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan Robinson, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists. The game was Robinson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Whitney Quick was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oneonta had to suffer through a rough 60-32 loss at the hands of Cherokee County.
Vinemont pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Oneonta, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
Vinemont took a serious blow against Oneonta in their previous meeting back in November of 2016, falling 60-27. Can Vinemont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
