The Troy Trojans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hughesville 36-0 at home. Fans of Troy have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Troy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Clayton Smith, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Evan Woodward, who threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes.
Troy pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.8 points per game. As for Hughesville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Troy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Line Mountain at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Line Mountain's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matchups. Hughesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
