Edison has gone a perfect 4-0 against Lewis recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Edison had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Annandale two weeks ago. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 17-10 margin over the Atoms.
Caitlyn Lankford made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Lankford was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Grace Crane and Marley Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Crane went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, while Jackson went 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Those three hits gave Crane a new career-high. Gabby Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Mount Vernon hit Lewis with a five-run fifth inning last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers fell 13-10 to the Majors. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Majors: they've now lost five in a row.
Kamryn Woolsey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Apodaca, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Edison pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Lewis, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything went Edison's way against Lewis in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Edison made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
