The Torrington Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the St. Paul Catholic Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Torrington has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Torrington is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Woodland Regional on Monday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 26-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.
Torrington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilah Boulli, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, St. Paul Catholic strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Watertown as they made off with an 18-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Isabella McCulloch was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila McCulloch, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Torrington has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Paul Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Torrington might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from St. Paul Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
