Even though the Knightstown Panthers have not done well against the Union County Patriots recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Knightstown skirted past Union County 45-43. Knightstown's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Knightstown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Roberson out in front who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was Roberson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Inman, who scored 11 points.
Union County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Harris , who scored 11 points along with 3 steals. Gavin Davis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Knightstown's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Union County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Morristown at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Morristown comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Union County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hagerstown at 7:30 p.m. Hagerstown and Union County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
