The Cambridge Gryphons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Marie Philip, falling 55-11. Cambridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Marie Philip apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
It was another big night for Xavier DeLeon, who scored 24 points along with six steals for Marie Philip. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for DeLeon. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Novas, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Cambridge bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marie Philip, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cambridge will face off against Hebron Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marie Philip, they will head out on the road to face off against Newman at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
