Addison Thompson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaylyn Woods, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keara Prater, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Christ Our Rock Lutheran has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.61 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit last Thursday. They came up short against Casey-Westfield, falling 17-7. The Silver Stallions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Williamson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Kylie Nalewajka was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Dupo, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
