Capuchino has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Westmoor Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Mills scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Capuchino still came out on top. Capuchino narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mills 58-56.
Capuchino's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isaiah Cruz, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Dominic Vanden Berghe, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vanden Berghe has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aris Boado, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Westmoor beat Mills 55-47 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Westmoor.
Capuchino's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Westmoor, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Capuchino lost to Westmoor on the road by a decisive 68-50 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Capuchino avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
